My New Button

I've finally added a button to my site. Please feel free to grab and post it on your site. I'd love know if you do so I can visit your site as well. Thank you.

I have no Easter cards to show because I had surgery and wasn't up to creating them.

Tip of the Top Hat

I created this card for my Daughter and her family.

The top hat consists of 4 pieces (another Silhouette pattern), the top, the hat, the band and the buckle.  I colored them with copic markers.  The shamrocks around the hat are real shamrocks I collected and pressed last year.  The final touch was the shamrock ribbon and bow purchased from Michael's.

Green Beer Cheer

I used a Silhouette pattern to cut the beer and border.  The "beer" consists of a light blue "glass", the green beer colored with copic markers, the "foam" also light blue colored with Paint Sticks white and detailed with copics.  I cut 2 pieces of acrylic the shape of the mugs to give a glass look.  The small shamrock on the beer was part of the cut out.  I placed a background of green plaid (part of my Oriental Trading paper purchase) with a white doily on top.  I then glued the layered beers and added white rhinestones to the "foam", gold to the shamrocks and 3 green rhinestones to the area between the beer.  Here's a Cheer with St. Patty's Green Beer!

St. Patrick's Day Pin

This isn't "technically" a card.  I created the "award" type pin by first using a 12" x 1 1/2" piece of green gingham.  Then I border cut one edge.  I used my Martha Stewart score board to score mark every 1/4".  After folding on the scores I used a heavy duty tape to tape the ends together.  (I've found alot of trouble keeping the ends together with any other tape or glue.)  I used the heavy duty tape to tape the "doily" to a round circle.  (The circle is in the back.)  I punched a 1" round white cardstock with my favorite Fisker punch.  I stamped the design with Dark Forest Veri-Sign ink.    I decided to add a little bling with dark green, clear and orange round rhinestones.
Then I created a "ribbon" with a dark green Bazzil cardstock and an orange paper I had purchased from Oriental Trading.  I glued the "ribbon" on the back of the "award" and added a clasp pin.  After cutting a piece of Dark Forest Bazzil stock larger then the ribbon I "pinned" the whole creation to the Dark Forest and stamped "You are my Lucky Charm" in white opaque ink.  Ta-Da...there you have it.  I plan on giving this to a good friend who is not only Irish but took a cruise there a few years back.

Vinatage Valentine

The inside of the card was created using Silhouette and graphics I cut from "The Graphic's Fairy".  (I shop there alot!!)

For the outside I started by spritzing a whit heart doily with "Walnut Ink" antiquing solution.  I then cut the doily into pieces and added them to "blank" spots.  Some of the graphics came from Microsoft.  I imported them into Word and cut them.  I placed a red heart rhinestone on the wings to add a little bling.  I created and added the red flower and red Stickles on the little girls hearts for extra demension.  I stamped the greeting with Tim Holtz ink.

Lovers Valentine

This was a "wild" card to make.  It's one of the new Silhouette designs.  It uses 2 pieces of paper (red and pink) intertwinded to create the outside look of a vingette.  I used ice Stickles on the "pink clouds", heart rhinestones on the small hearts and red Stickles to enhance the girl silhouette and hearts.

Birds and Hearts

This card was created with cut outs and is multi-layered.  The center heart is a layering of dark pink, light pink, a dark pink center.  The word "Love" was a sticker surrounded by red Stickles.  The red birds also have red Stickles accents.  The small flowers have brads in the centers.

Vintage Valentine 1

This was a mind bender!  I had all of the elements and after choosing which ones to use this is what I came up with.  I think it has a vintage feel.  I used cut outs, rhinestones, a fluer de lies stamp and the heart at the top is a brad.  I like the way it turned out and the receipient seemed to as well.

This card has several layers.  The back ground card is a bright pink.  The background is a light brown kraft color.  Each "candy" piece is composed of a white scallop background, a dark brown circle and a pink heart.  The final cards appears like an open box of chocolates.  I really loved this card.

Specialty Cut Edge

This card was created with the help of my Silhouette, 3d stickers, red heart rhinestones and a stamp I purchased from Oriental Trading.

This is one of 2 cards I created from a kit that included papers, cards, and embellishments.

Love You - hearts

This was a Silhouette cut card.  It had more steps then I realized but I loved the way it could be decorated.  The colors of cardstock used were:
red, pink, black, white.
I also added a heart border at the bottom.

Valentine Cards 2013

My grandson asked me to create a card for his girlfriend.  This double heart card was decorated with stickers.  The "heart flowers" are paper tole.  There are 3 layers to it.  I hope she like it.  I know he did :-}

Nativity Cut Out Card

This was a card offered on the Silhouette store.  I used a dark blue cardstock purchased from Michaels.  The interior was cut out and I used 2 clear star shaped rhinestones glued together with fishing line to hang it from the center.

Winter Birthday

If you've followed my blog you may have noticed my daughter's birthday is 3 days after Christmas.  We always make it a special day and it's never celebrated with our Christmas gatherings.

This was her card this year.  I should mention she took professional ice skating lessons when she was younger.

The inside contains a poem I created special for her.

Bird on a Branch

This was great fun to make.  The silhouette cut bird was made with a red mettallic, and the previously used rust/gold mettalic for the wing.  I hand drew the branch.  I used a gold cord on the side and a premade "glitter globe" saying purchased @ "Micheal's".  The background paper is a very light blue with little red birds scattered about.

Touches of Light Blue and Green

The light blue tree cut out is a bit difficult to see in the photos.  I colored clear rhinestones a brown color and added the reindeer "buttons" for a cute accent.  The top has a green ribbon that reads Happy Holidays.  The background paper matched the tree so well that I didn't want to hide any of it and that made it difficult to see in the photos.  I hope you can make it out.

Christmas Bird house

Christmas 2012

I love this card!  I used the same rust colored/gold mettalic dot cardstock for the front of the house.  The peg and inside of hole were cut in dark brown.  I hand cut the trees from scraps.  I then used a Fisker punch to create the white "ruffle".  I used scraps of "Christmas lights" from my own village around the roof.  To create the snow effect I used Flower Soft Polar White I found it best to use 2 layers of the Polar Whiter.  I made a for a better coverage.

This was a fun easy card.  I used sillhouette to create the "perppermint" candies.
