I Love the Wind
C. Thomas
I love the wind
The way it's fingers lift my hair
The way it kisses and caresses my face
The way it takes away my worries and cares
The clouds move by on days that are fair
********************************************
It moves through the wild expanse
It lifts the feathers and floats the fowl
Sometimes I have to fight to keep my stance
It whips through the limbs as it shreks and howls
********************************************
The song it sings blowing through the trees
The way it blows and dances the leaves
It drives the rain hiding my tears
Moving softly and taking with it my fears.
********************************************
I love the wind
It sings a song and whispers my name
The world bends and moves changing things
So they're never going to be the same
Often you have to strain to hear it sing.
********************************************
It blows in great drifts
Some people think it's a wild foe
It drives the snow making it lift
It stings my nose and freezes toes.
********************************************
But I love the Wind
